Welcome Rose Lovers! The Monterey Bay Rose Society was founded in 1980 to serve rose growers and enthusiasts in the unique climate found in Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties. We hold gatherings throughout the year and encourage you to join us.
Our meetings offer informative speakers and demonstrations, our newsletter provides monthly updates and articles by experienced rose growers, and our Display Garden gives you living proof that you can grow healthy, blooming roses throughout the year on California's Coast. The Monterey Bay Rose Society maintains a public garden with more than 130 roses at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds. The roses represent a wide variety of colors and styles -- all of which do well in our climate. We meet monthly on every second Saturday to share our knowledge with the public and keep the roses looking their best. We'd love to have you join us -- bring your gloves and pruners for hands-on learning how to promote more blooms during the season. Rose experts will be there to answer your questions. Location: Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds -- 2601 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville -- the rose garden is located near the horse arena -- enter through the Livestock Gate More info: Contact Judy Sauve: judyfsauve@comcast.net |
